Canis Minor is a small constellation north of Monoceros, south of Gemini and southwest of Cancer. Canis Minor is best viewed during the winter months. The brightest star in Canis Minor is called Procyon. It, along with Betelgeuse and Sirius, form the nearly equilateral Winter Triangle of bright stars. Canis Minor was seen to be one of the dogs of Orion the Hunter.
