The Northern Crown is a small constellation best seem in the summer months. The constellation lies between Bootes and Hercules. In mythology, the jeweled crown is said to be the wedding gift from Bacchus to his wife Ariadne, daughter of the king of Minos. When she died, Bacchus threw the crown into the heavens where the gems became a crown of stars.
